“Being a graduate of the Faculty of Theology means having values.”

Our Faculty of Theology Dean, Prof., made the opening speech of the graduation ceremony. Dr. Recep Demir said, “Dear graduates, the Faculty of Theology not only provided you with knowledge but also gave you a mission. This mission, as a Muslim individual with faith, is to both enlighten the people around you about Islam and set a good example for them. I would like to remind you once again that you have a duty to represent Islam in the best way, as well as to enlighten those around you. You will transfer these values to our society and be advocates of goodness and justice. Being a graduate of the Faculty of Theology means having values, being a graduate of the Faculty of Theology means having red lines. Being a graduate of the Faculty of Theology means having a cause and a concern.” he said.

“Our graduation heralds a new beginning and conquering new hearts.”

Our faculty valedictorian, Merve Çataltaş, who spoke on behalf of the students, said: “We are ending the path we started 5 years ago here today. We are graduating. We leave behind tiring midterms and finals, and homework that keeps us up all morning. When we started this educational journey, we set out with the dream and excitement of the day we would graduate. Now our dream has come true and we are graduating, but we carry a bittersweet joy inside us. Because we are leaving our school and friends that we are used to, love, and share valuable memories with. During these 5 years, we gained valuable information from our valuable teachers. Our wish is to be able to properly pass on this knowledge we have acquired to future generations. I would like to continue my speech with the meaning of a hadith of our Prophet. 'There is an organ in a human being. If it is healthy, the body will be healthy; If it is corrupted, the whole body is corrupted. Be careful! We are graduating from the Faculty of Theology, whose duty, mission and vision in society is 'to be the heart of the body', as per the commandment 'it is the heart', and where we receive training on how these hearts work healthily and pump healthy blood. "I believe that this graduation, in which we feel bittersweet joy, is the harbinger of a new beginning and conquering new hearts, just like all endings." said.

Our department heads and academicians delivered the documents to our graduates. Then, our graduates received their certificates of achievement from their teachers and celebrated their graduation by throwing their caps.
